Yacht Club Wedding Florida Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

Wedding photos from Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club just south of Boca Rotan, Florida.  Even with Hurricane Sandy bearing down on Southern Florida I managed a marathon day, driving 340 miles from Jacksonville, Florida on Friday morning, photographing until 10:30 pm, then making my way back North until I called it quits at a Hotel at around 1 am.  I finally made it home at 10:30 am on a very windy and cloudy Saturday.  Luckily the outer rain bands of the hurricane came and went very quickly giving the wedding party a few minutes of photos outside.

The Lighthouse Point Yacht Club is a great venue with ceremonies available either outside or inside depending on the weather, and the reception hall in the same immediate building.  The venue was decorated with a mix of white lights and blue accent lights (the accent lights I’m sure could be changed to suit your weddings color scheme).  Here are a few of my favorite photos from in and around the wedding venue.  When photographing near and around boats docks always be sure to watch your step and the wedding parties so no one takes a fall in to the water (no one likes soggy bride photos).

Emma and Anthony were a super cool couple, who have been together nine years since University at Buffalo State.  Anthony and his groomsmen all played hockey and when they heard I played soccer at PSU were sure to fill me in on how their Division 3 squad just beat Penn State’s D1 hockey team.  Congrats again!

Hurricane Sandy gave some wonderful soft light with clouds, instead of the usual all sun days of Florida wedding Photography.  The wedding details were well thought out, with the wedding menu and thank you cards neatly wrapped with twine and placed at every setting.  The final photo was too good to be true, as I saw a woman place her 5 inch high heels next to a cocktail in front of the DJ’s blue lit panels (required abstract artsy photo of the day).

My favorite photo of the day though, has to be the Bride singing Tom Petty’s Free Falling to her brides maid’s new baby, only a few months old!

If you are interested in hiring me for your wedding, contact me today and we’ll get your special day booked.  And even if there’s a hurricane, I’ll be there to photograph it!
