Baughman Center weddings at the University of Florida are a beautiful choice for a ceremony, and paired with a downtown Jacksonville Chart House Restaurant reception, created the perfect wedding day. Danielle and Greg began their big day in Gainesville at the University of Florida, where the bride, Danielle went to college. Both Danielle and Greg got ready for the ceremony at the Reitz Union Hotel, at the heart of the University of Florida’s campus. Although it wasn’t a game day, we enjoyed a great view of the stadium from the balconies in their rooms. We captured beautiful portraits of Danielle in her stunning, vintage bridal gown that was worn by her mother, and handmade by her grandmother. This was not only an amazing story, but such a beautiful way to make these loved ones present, and an intricate part of the bride’s day. We got great shots of Greg utilizing the architecture of the Reitz Union Hotel, before heading to the Baughman Center for their first look. With orange and blue balloons blocking his view, Greg awaited his gorgeous bride on the bridge beside the Baughman Center. They had a beautiful moment together, and a few couple and family shots taken, before we entered for the ceremony. Whereas first looks aren’t for everyone, they are a great way to utilize precious time, and sneak in some couple and family portraits before the ceremony begins. The Baughman Center is a stunning ceremony venue for smaller, more intimate weddings. After the ceremony we continued our family portraits, as well as another session with the bride and groom, and then hit the road for our drive back to Jacksonville.
The reception was at the acclaimed Chart House Restaurant on the riverfront in downtown Jacksonville. This was another great choice for a more intimate dinner reception. Danielle and Greg not only planned their day at two perfect locations, but also came up with a unique and fun surprise for their guests at the reception: caricatures! Mr. D provided an opportunity for each guest to have their caricature drawn, which was a fun activity and a great party favor. After a sparkler exit, we took Danielle and Greg for one last special night session, where we took advantage of the beautiful lights along the river for some spectacular night photographs. A perfect ending to a perfect day!
